Sunrise Eureka

There was a layer of frost on my sleeping bag when i woke at 5:30 this morning, but I was warm all night. No cold either! I managed to catch a bit of the sunrise from a bluff before my shower.

I showed in the sink at the visitors center before they opened. Hand soap took the place of shampoo. Left my hair flat and bodyless- just the way I like it. As my head was in the sink the janitor came in. He was startled a bit and asked me if I was alright in a confounded tone of voice. I stood up with hair dripping to address him "Fine thanks- having a great shower," as I put on a friendly smile. He stood there for a moment with his head silghtly crooked, then turned and left, more confused than when he had come in.

The day was spent touring the Eureka Springs area. I did manage to most everything that Beau and the others led me to. The area around Beaver Dam is beautiful now, even with most everything being dead. The Dinosaur Park and Pivot Rock were closed for the season. Bastards.

Religion is huge down here, and as one of the hotel clercks in Hot Springs pointed out; that is an odd thing considering how many biggots are in the area as well. I saw Thorncrown Chappel and Pleasure Play , the two religious monuments in the area.

Eureka Golden Gate Bridge

I also saw the golden gate suspension bridge across the white river. Apparently it is one of the sites to see. There was a movie filmed here starring Orlando Bloom and Kirsten Dunst... Comming Soon To A Theater Near You!

Lunch was from the supermarket and enjoyed at the downtown city park. A pear, bannana, and a can of cold chilli pryed open by a Swiss Army Multi-tool cannopener. I imagine that I will become quite proficient with this implement by the end of the trip. Lunch was good and cheap. Got some good looks from the locals too.

I spent my last night in Eureka back at Caribe with KJ, Beau, Bill, and Lee. We said our goodbyes and they left to see a band. I wanted to go, and wished I had, but I tuckerd out instead. Who knows what I missed. Tomorrow, I planned to head to Little Rock to see the Clinton Presidential Library.
